Santa's so nice. And so are Grandparents!

And the drama of our 2009 Christmas is finally over. Yes! It kind of sneaked up on us. The Friday before Christmas Santa decided to order the cutest table and chairs for the girls. With a promise of delivery on 12/24, with Santa. The delivery date kept changing, going as far back as 12/28. But UPS came through and at noon on Christmas Eve it was on our front porch.

We had a nice dinner at our house on Christmas Eve with the Miller Grandparents, Cassidee and Cole. After they went home, it all started. MaKenna kept saying her teeth hurt (she fell earlier in the day on the table) and Morgann was really teething. All while Earl thought he was getting sick in the downstairs bathroom. So I put Orajel on the girls' teeth and gums. And gave Morgann some Tylenol. Morgann went right down. MaKenna on the other hand, had an overdose of Orajel. And could NOT stop drooling, making it hard for her to sleep. After about an hour of this she finally fell fast asleep.

Earl came upstairs and we went to work. Wrapping and preparing for Christmas morning. Opening boxes that hadn't been opened. Like that cute little table and chairs. After he had it together he asked me why the table was natural and not white. I glanced over there and asked why the chairs were primary and not pastel? Wrong table. No. No. No.

Although we missed the WOW factor on Christmas morning, they were all happy. Mason loved his Transformer and Legos. Gloves and hat. Clothes and movies. MaKenna loved her princess CD player. Her sweatsuit. The baby with su-su and play pen. Morgann loved MaKenna's play pen, too. And Morgann loved her hat and book. They all enjoyed their stockings.

Good thing she is only one. Or she might have noticed that she was jipped at home.

We loved Christmas breakfast. And enjoyed our house and each other the rest of the morning.

Oh and the keys (originally for MaKenna) she took over after unwrapping them.

Santa was good to us (Earl and I) this year. Daddy got a new I-Pod. Mommy got some new pictures for her wall. And almost matching Smartwool sweaters. Warm.

Then we headed up to Grandma & Grandpa Miller's home. Where we came upon a telephone call from Uncle Alex, one of the two times he gets to talk to us during the year. Hearing his voice was nice for everyone. Including Earl's Grandma Helen, who still continues to amaze me.

We ate turkey, ham, rolls, stuffing, potato salad, deviled eggs, chex mix, and vegetables. Apple pie and peanut butter pie and cookies from my annual cookie exchange.

Grandma and Grandpa Miller really came through for us this year. All three children left with smiles from ear to ear. They had well planned gifts for each of them. Gifts that all had the WOW factor. Like a ride on Winnie the Pooh toy for Morgann, food for MaKenna's kitchen, and a remote controlled helicopter for Mason.

Next year, I will be more prepared. For today, thank you to my in-laws! And Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to everyone else!
