As I returned to week a few weeks ago my worry wasn't about the new baby going to daycare. That I did about a year earlier with MickMack. My concern was for Mason. He digs his heels in the ground when change is involved (ok he really sheds a few tears). And this new schedule brought the most change for him. With our third Monday nearly under our belt, we are succeeding. He gets his schedule, which is sometimes even confusing for me. It goes something like Monday & Tuesday bus ride to Gina's, Wednesday picked up right after lunch at school and Thursdays pick up is shortly after lunch (Yes, I have one hour for SPIN CLASS again!). Wheels turn in that little head of his when he asks what day it is, what is going to happen after class??
Speaking of class. Teacher or Mrs. Onjukka (just try to pronounce that one right, I dare you!), has only great things to say about Mason. And he only speaks highly of her as well. He's been telling me all year that his favorite part of the day is playing on the playground. Where he collects rocks, only for me to find in the washer or dryer. Whatever! He tells me, all the kids at school do it, so it's okay.(I have verified that all the kids at school do do this with other moms. They say they find just as many! Some moms even make them return the rocks!)
Prior to returning to work I visited Mason's class for the day. Where I had the pleasure of watching him interact with the other kids, do his school work and yes, play on the playground. He also had his first school picture. Weird. A school picture is for like, BIG boys, right?
