My cousin Tammy participates in the Arizona Breast Cancer 3 day walk--60 miles. Each walker commits to raising $2,200 to support cancer research. This year Dan, her husband is joining her. That is $4,400 they need to raise. I believe they are half way there.
The walk is really specific for breast cancer awareness. It is so important for women and men to have mammograms and get check ups regularly. EARLY DETECTION IS KEY. In fact recently a lady I know was diagnosed with breast cancer and ended up having a double masectomy. Catching it early is a big reason why her cancer is now in remission. A good site for information is breastcancer.org, because I don't know nearly enough myself.
To help her fund raising efforts I thought I would put a link on our site if anyone would like to donate. As they put in their e-mail to me, next year they could be walking for you--cancer touches so many lives.
