Go Sox!

I had the pleasure of travelling to Boston for work purposes last week. The conference was great and I learned a lot to help guide me at the office. Pointers like, counting clients' pain pills and Motivational Interviewing.
The first day at the conference I lucked out and found some other Oregonians who had one extra ticket to the Red Sox game that night. The chance to go to Fenway Park was probably once in a lifetime for me. And an experience I will never forget.

I was kind enough to get Mason and E hats while in the Park. I assume that is the least I could do.I wish they all could have came with me.

The guest speakers at our conference were Matthew Perry and Danny Siewell. Ruben Stoddard performed the National Anthem and another song, something about Angels. I didn't listen to the words, I was too consumed by the before and after pictures of Drug Court Graduates. You can imagine how different they looked, if you've seen the meth mugshots. Ruben looked different, he's lost a lot of weight. To be honest, I hardly noticed.

My cousin Becci and her family joined me on Thursday evening. We met in the city park or at least one of. And from there started following the Freedom Trail/. It lead us all around the city. And right to the restaurant below. It served amazing Italian food on the North End of Boston. I am so grateful I was able to meet baby Elly, she's only two months. And her big brother JJ has the cutest smile I've seen. It brightened my trip and provided the perfect baby fix.

I didn't travel to Boston by  myself. The Judge for our Drug Court accompanied me, and I was not the only one that thought Becci had adorable babies. He enjoyed their company, too.

We walked the trail to the USS Constitution. For hours. Through beautiful alleys and past extremely old churches and buildings and museums and markets.

The trail ended at the Bunker Hill site. It was late and the Subway lead us back to our Hotel rooms. The next day I travelled home to my sweet family. There is truly no place like home, even if it means rubbing Mason's feet with Peppermint foot lotion or holding MaKenna's hair back as she, well I won't give you too many details.
