Myself, my kids & my friend Robyn drove west this weekend--destination Government Camp. For two reasons--1. to hang out and spend time with the family at "our" cozy little cabin and 2. to run the Timberline Half Marathon. We spent a lot of time in the car on I-84, but my kids do this regularly and are troopers through and through.
Saturday morning Robyn got up and ran the half marathon trail run, it was wet and rainy. Which put a damper on the only full day there, but we all made it fun. Michelle, Bill & Dandaddy decided to mountain bike down the "free ski" run. Originally he, Dandaddy, thought Mason would be able to partake in this event, thankfully I said NO to that. They made it down in one really wet piece. And I am happily not putting the "emergencies" label to this post along with all the other ones.

Saturday afternoon we met up with the Vincent Family, (minus Ryan who like E, was/is out on a fire) for a walk/bike ride around Trillium Lake. It was great to see this area in a season other than winter--it has so much to offer. I'm sure Mason and River did not forget each other. Along with their sisters, they had a fun afternoon.

Sunday morning was our turn to race the race. From left to right below: Katie, Jennie, Julie and myself along with Robyn (Saturday runner) and our little cheerleaders. I ran with Jennie all but two miles, we kept a nice pace, about a 12 minute mile after you take out the stops -- 3 water breaks, a bee sting stop, a shoe tie stop and a fall. The most important thing to me was to jog the entire race and I did!
